Sustainability at Pluto
Since 1976, we have been committed to creating timeless designs crafted from exquisite materials with effortless comfort. Making conscious choices to tread more lightly in a sustainable journey. Rooted in Belgian creativity and craftsmanship, every Pluto piece is made with careful thought — adding only what is necessary and choosing quality that lasts. We believe great style is forever. By designing garments to be cherished longer, we hope to inspire a smaller, better wardrobe — and a lighter footprint.
Responsible Sourcing & Production
Each Pluto collection starts in our Belgian atelier and is produced in close collaboration with trusted, family-owned factories in Europe and Morocco.
We source 90–95% of our raw materials from Europe, keeping production close to our fabric partners to minimize our CO₂ footprint. Whether Portuguese, Italian, or French fabrics, we match materials to the most fitting production sites, ensuring exceptional quality, impeccable fit, and responsible sourcing at every step.
Waste Control
At Pluto, we produce thoughtfully — only buying and making what has already been sold, reducing excess from the start.
Leftover materials are upcycled wherever possible, and we actively seek partnerships with brands that give our fabric remnants a second life. Prototypes and samples are offered during outlet sales, allowing each unique piece to find a new home instead of going to waste.
Wash and quality test samples are donated to charity, where their fabrics are transformed into children’s clothing by mothers with limited budgets.
The journey is ongoing. We keep learning, adapting, and moving towards a more thoughtful way of creating.
